Droidcops.COMMicrosoft has released Windows 11 cumulative update KB5008215 to fix a number of known security vulnerabilities and bugs in previous versions.

You can install this update by accessing the Settings → Windows Update → page and clicking on the Check for Updates button. However, users can also download and install this Windows 11 KB5008215 update manually via the Microsoft Update Catalog page at following link.

After installing this update KB5008215, Windows 11 will change its build number to 22000.376.

“This update contains security improvements to the internal functionality of Windows 11. There are no documented issues with this release,” reads the release notes in the support bulletin for update KB5008215.

However, the preview update released last month contains the following fixes, which have been enabled with this latest Microsoft released update.

  • We fixed a known issue that might prevent some applications, such as the Kaspersky application from opening after you try to repair or update an application using the Microsoft Installer or MSI.
  • We fixed an issue preventing Virtual Private Network (VPN) tunnels from connecting. The error message is “The Modem (or other connecting device) is already in use or not configured properly”.

Microsoft also stated that they will make changes to the existing service stack to fix any bugs or issues that are preventing Windows updates from installing properly.

In addition to the above improvements, this December 2021 Patch Tuesday for Windows 11 also brings several new Fluent Design compatible emojis. This emoji will later be used with other Microsoft products for Windows 11 such as Skype, Microsoft Teams and others.

These new emojis have a modern look and are more in tune with the design in Windows 11, and the collection as a whole is quite interesting. Of course, there are still 2D emoji besides the 3D version that Microsoft is proud of. As expected, the new emoji collection also includes Clippy, as a replacement for the paperlip emoji.
